Description: Lockheed Martin is commercializing a new class of grid-scale energy storage systems that will enable renewable energy sources, such as solar and wind, to power our world anywhere, anytime, and at low cost. We are a small development arm of a large organization. We are seeking a full time Systems Engineer in our Cambridge and Andover, MA offices.The Systems Engineer will define system-level requirements with responsibility for both electrochemical devices and the balance of plant. The Systems Engineer will conduct trade studies and detailed analysis of proposed solutions. The Systems Engineer will work with team members to ensure the sub-system requirements are met through proper design, test, and integration.The ideal candidate takes a thorough, rigorous approach to engineering, and is comfortable when faced with multidisciplinary problems outside their comfort zone. The position requires strong analytical sensibilities. We strongly value the ability to communicate technical information effectively across a wide range of audiences.This position offers the ability to make an immediate impact with a potentially revolutionary technology in the rapidly evolving energy industry.Basic Qualifications:A BS in relevant technical discipline, such as chemical, electrical, mechanical, or systems engineering.Desired Skills:Experience with electrochemical systems, such as batteries, fuel cells, or electrolyzers is desired, though experience with multidisciplinary systems of any kind is highly valued.Familiarity with the balance of plant and process equipment used in electrochemical systems (ex. pumps, valves, heat exchangers, instrumentation, etc.)Familiarity with the industrial control systems for such process equipment.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:job.QualificationsLockheed Martin is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
