Together, we can help people build stronger communities - we're just getting started.Summary: Calibra is a Facebook subsidiary whose goal is to provide financial services for Libra, a new global currency powered by blockchain technology. The first product Calibra will introduce is a digital wallet, which will be available in Messenger, WhatsApp and as a standalone app. The first version of Calibra will support peer-to-peer payments and a few other ways to pay such as QR codes which customers can use to accept transfers of Libra. Over time there will be many other use-cases for Calibra including in-store payments, integrations into Point-of-Sale systems, and more. When launched, Calibra will have strong fraud and privacy protections. The Calibra digital wallet is expected to launch in 2020.Facebook seeks a highly motivated and experienced team player to act as Lead Counsel on our Privacy and Product Counseling team to support its new Calibra custodial wallet business for the Libra cryptocurrency. This role will support Calibra’s Risk and Compliance teams, working on cutting-edge areas of law and in a vibrant, fast-paced environment. You will also work with Facebook's international teams and will advise on relevant global issues in consultation with local counsel. You will regularly meet with product teams and other cross-functional partners.Required Skills:

Counsel and advise on activities, programs, policies, and procedures relating to U.S. and international anti-money laundering (AML) and countering the funding of terrorism (CFT) laws and regulations.

Assist in the design and implementation of Calibra-wide compliance programs and initiatives, including compliance policies, processes and training.

Analyze products, services, systems, and policies developed by the Risk and Compliance teams to provide practical legal assessments of risk across multiple jurisdictions.

Monitor and respond to developments in AML/CFT-related regulations and guidance potentially applicable to blockchain applications (i.e., new laws, regulations, important judgments, regulatory guidance, etc.).

Support the Calibra Compliance team on any licensing requirements, including examinations.

Minimum Qualifications:

J.D. (or foreign equivalent) with membership in at least one U.S. state bar.

5+ years of experience with US and EU AML/CFT laws, including experience working at or for regulated financial institutions or fintech companies (either in-house and/or at a global law firm).

Demonstrated experience working and providing advice under deadlines with minimal supervision, including cross-functionally.

Preferred Qualifications:

Product counseling experience.

Knowledge and application of privacy and data protection laws.
