Assistant managers are primarily responsible for assisting the General Manager in overall operations of the theater. An assistant manager will be expected to have an understanding of and ability to perform all floor staff level jobs (usher (cleaning) Concession (cash handling and food service), box office (cash handling and customer service), etc), communicate effectively and appropriately with other staff, understand and enforce company policies, assist guests with any questions or complaints they may have and coach, train, and take corrective actions with staff as is appropriate, accurately count registers and inventory, accurately and neatly fill out and/or assemble paperwork.
Job duties and expectations of an assistant manager include but are not limited to:
Knowledgeable on how to perform all floor staff level jobs
Effectively and appropriately communicate with all staff
Train, teach, and assist staff in their respective roles
Enforce all corporate policies and state and federal laws
Take corrective action and give helpful critique to staff when necessary
Accurate cash handling skills
Accurately and efficiently count and record inventory levels
Assist guests with any questions or concerns they may have
Neatly and accurately fill out reports, forms, and other documentation
Working independently and as part of a team
Assist General Manager with any directives
Working knowledge of computer use
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Due to the nature of the work to be performed, these physical requirements must be met:
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
Ability to go up and down stairs frequently
Bending, kneeling, reaching, and lifting up to 50 lbs
Basic requirements for employment include:
Be 18 years of age or older
Possess a current California food handlers card
Legally able to work in California
Available to work during peak times, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Ability to pass a criminal background check
