We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Fraternity Chef to join our fraternity house and take charge of meal preparation and kitchen cleanliness. The ideal candidate will be passionate about cooking delicious and nutritious meals, adept at managing kitchen operations efficiently, and committed to maintaining high standards of hygiene and cleanliness. This position offers an opportunity to showcase culinary skills, foster a positive dining experience for fraternity members, and contribute to the vibrant community life within the fraternity house. The expected start date will be Aug 25th.

Responsibilities:

- Plan, prepare, and cook two meals a day (lunch and dinner) from Monday through Friday for fraternity members, ensuring variety, taste, and nutritional balance in the menu. Should average between 20 and 30 hours a week.

- Maintain inventory of kitchen supplies, ingredients, and equipment, and coordinate with fraternity leadership for replenishment as needed.

- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices, to uphold kitchen cleanliness and prevent foodborne illnesses.

- Organize and clean kitchen facilities, including countertops, appliances, utensils, and dining areas, to maintain a tidy and hygienic environment.

- Collaborate with fraternity members to accommodate dietary restrictions, preferences, and special requests, demonstrating flexibility and responsiveness in meal preparation.

- Monitor food quality, portion sizes, and presentation to uphold culinary standards and enhance dining satisfaction among fraternity members.

- Engage with fraternity members to solicit feedback on meals and incorporate suggestions for menu improvement and innovation.

- Assist with special events, parties, and gatherings hosted by the fraternity house by providing catering services and culinary support as required.

Qualifications:

- Proficiency in preparing a variety of cuisines, including American, Italian, Mexican, and Asian, with a focus on balanced nutrition and culinary creativity.

- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in kitchen hygiene, sanitation, and cleanliness.

- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.

- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with fraternity members, staff, and vendors.

- Flexibility to accommodate varying dietary needs, preferences, and schedules of fraternity members.

- Physical stamina and dexterity to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects, and perform kitchen tasks efficiently.

- High school diploma or equivalent; culinary certification or formal training from a recognized culinary institution is a plus.
