JOB DESCRIPTION
Position job Title: JHRL Staff Accountant
Reports To: JHRL ACCOUNTING DIRECTOR
Department: Accounting

FLSA Status: NON-EXEMPT
GENERAL PURPOSE
Process expenses and revenues related to JHRL operations and on behalf of JHRL contracts. Perform vendor reconciliations and timely deposits for JHRL operations and contracts.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Accounts Payable 40%
- Review payment terms to ensure timely payment of operating invoices and avoid finance charges; Review invoices for compliance with corporate approval levels prior to paying; Ensure all Teton County, Wyoming taxes are properly calculated; Work with managers to ensure payment of goods in month they were effectively received;
- Review work orders in lodging software to ensure accuracy in vendor, amount, and mark-up prior to posting to monthly statements; Charge owners in lodging software for utilities, HOA dues, and the work orders in a timely manner
- Identify and maintain vendor 1099 information and assist in 1099 preparation; Reconcile vendor statements and follow up on outstanding invoices as needed
- Process checks twice and week and prepares on-demand checks as needed
General Accounting 30%
- Review daily V12/front desk audit reports to ensure all transactions are accounted for and ready for bank reconciliation
- Process corporate credit card transactions, distribute statements, prepare journal entries, and follow up with cardholders to properly record credit card purchases
- Perform monthly journal entries for all cash deposits received into operating accounting
- Perform basic re-class journal entries as needed to correct accounts
Accounts Receivable 20%
- Post payments from HOA’s, employee housing, rental, and caretaking owners to the appropriate account in a timely manner
- Invoice for any internal billings and post payments in a timely manner
- Daily deposits of Advanced Deposits from the front desk
OTHER FUNCTIONS 10%
- Process monthly revenue for long-term units and prepare owner payments and statements
- Support other members of JHRL and accounting by performing additional duties as requested by management

COMPETENCIES
- Knowledge of general financial accounting and accounts payable
- Ability to understand and adhere to generally accepted accounting principles
- Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to learn new software quickly and efficiently
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organization skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced office environment
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Office environment with a daily walk outside to JHRL’s main office to collect mail and distribute paperwork
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Prolonged periods sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times
- Must be able to walk between JHRL locations
POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
- Full time, year round position; Monday-Friday office hours expected
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- BS or BA Degree, or equivalent years of experience
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- BS or BA in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent years of experience
- Minimum two years accounting or business experience preferred
