Job Summary
Assist in providing information and services to our resident, commuter and prospective students as well as staff/faculty and guests.
Reports To Kjersti Buckley, Residential Life CoordinatorEducation/Qualifications
- Adult CPR/AED and First Aid Certification (not required but preferred)
- Good Conduct and Academic Standing with the college
- Sheridan College Student currently enrolled
- Cumulative GPA is 2.0 or greater
- Ability to work well with others as part of a collaborative team.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Creative, with the ability to propose and initiate new ideas.
- Ability to accept critical feedback and integrate suggestions into ideas.
- Ability to prioritize activities and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Basic computer skills and a familiarity with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Publisher, and Microsoft Excel.
- The ability to understand the importance of confidentiality and to serve as a role model for others.
- Strong interest in helping students connect with the college and enhance their college experience.
- Awareness of, and appreciation for, individual uniqueness and diversity.
- Ability to resolve conflict situations and make decisions under pressure.
- Work independently and with others. Willingness to learn.
- Ability to lift 25 pounds.

Job Duties
These are the job duties for required of the position.
Percentage of time 100%
Responsibility/Duty
- Provide a professional, helpful, welcoming atmosphere and a positive attitude for all guests of the CLH Office.
- Provide coverage for the front desk including answering phones, transfer calls, take messages, send and receive emails.
- Work with the professional staff to coordinate special projects.
- Assist with answering questions and providing tours of residence halls to potential students
- Communicate with the professional staff in the office on a regular basis
- Assist in making key packets, student IDs and help with other housing projects.
- Assist with advertising CLH events. Includes digital advertising, tabling, flyers, chalk signs and more.
- Cross-trained for work in the mailroom.
- Required to attend all trainings and meetings as scheduled. Includes pre-employment training in August before school starts, professional development at least one time per month and diversity, equity and inclusion training.
- Other duties as assigned.
