Job SummaryThe Alumni and Communications Coordinator is responsible for alumni development, coordination of alumni events and communication correspondences from the Foundation office. This position is also responsible for office administrative support and other functions as directed. This position reports directly to the Sheridan College Foundation Executive Director.

Supplemental Functions:

  • Occasionally direct the work of volunteers
  • Participate in training as appropriate to assignments
  • Proficient with the software systems used in the Foundation’s operations which are Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge (donor database), Microsoft Office including Word and Excel

Reports ToSheridan College Foundation Executive Director

Education/Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree required, bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Excellent oral, written and presentation skills
  • Desktop publishing
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office programs
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Organizational skills
  • Present a positive image with a high level of professionalism at all times

Experience

Responsibility/DutyAlumni Development

  • Coordinates the development and on-going management of the Alumni Program with direction from the Foundation Executive Director
  • Work with College and other resources to expand and maintain an accurate alumni database.
  • Communicate with alumni pool on a regular basis
  • Cultivate alumni to become future donors
  • Manage and plan all alumni events
  • Generate Alumni program reporting for the Foundation Executive Director and the SCF Board of Directors
  • Manage the nomination and election process for the yearly Distinguished Alumni program
  • Co-leader of the Student Partner program
  • Manage Alumni Committee – Organization, meetings, communication
  • Responsible for budget management of Alumni related accounts
  • Responsible for communication of all Alumni events, including Alumni newsletter

Responsibility/DutyCommunications Coordination

  • Plan and manage all social media and digital communication
  • Coordinate the communication of SCF activities with the College Public Relations Office
  • Plan, develop and produce promotional materials, as needed
  • Provide updated and current information to assist with ensuring website is up-to-date
  • Manage Constant Contact email distributions.

Percentage of time10%

Responsibility/DutyOther Functions

  • Foundation liaison for Booster Club fundraising/sponsorships
  • Manage Scott Foundation Internship program
  • Assist with fundraising events, as needed
  • Other duties as assigned by the SCF Executive Director

Responsibility/DutyAdministrative Support

  • Receive telephone calls, greet visitors, and provide assistance as appropriate
  • Direct visitors, calls, and correspondence to the appropriate staff member(s)
