About the opportunity:

SWCA Environmental Consultants (SWCA) is one of the largest environmental compliance firms in the country and ranks among Engineering News-Record’s Top 200 Environmental Firms.We have an opening for a Assistant Project Manager - Compliance in our Sheridan, WY office. The candidate chosen to fill this position will assist with compliance efforts for preconstruction planning, construction, and post-construction operations and maintenance in the mining, transmission, power generation, and oil and gas markets. We seek a self-motivated individual who can work independently and collaborate with teams to manage our current compliance portfolio, write critical compliance reports, and help expand SWCA’s Wyoming and neighboring areas' market presence.

What you will accomplish:

  • Assist our environmental compliance and project teams on a range of small to large infrastructure projects.
  • Provide professional regulatory and permitting guidance to external clients and internal team members.

  • Prepare various environmental and regulatory permit applications.

  • Support regulatory/permit compliance communications between agencies and clients.

  • Communicate effectively and proactively with diverse project stakeholders, including regulatory agents, field crews, trade workers, and third parties regarding project status, schedules, and compliance issues.

  • Build new relationships and support the development of client capture plans.

  • Manage and support projects in Wyoming and neighboring areas.

Experience and qualifications for success:

Required

  • A B.S. in engineering, environmental science, or related field

  • A minimum of 3 years of related experience

  • Experience in mining, renewable energy generation and/or transmission, and/or oil and gas.

  • Experience in developing and managing National Pollutant Discharge Eliminations System and state equivalent permits, stormwater pollution prevention plans (SWPPPs), and spill prevention, control, and countermeasure (SPCC) plans.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft suite of products (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Word).

  • Experience participating in audits according to local, state, and federal regulations.

Preferred

  • A solution-driven attitude

  • Proven experience in building new relationships and developing client capture plans.

  • Project management experience in Wyoming and/or nearby areas.

  • Experience working with large infrastructure and/or design build projects, etc.

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to communicate in writing, verbally, and graphically.

  • Working knowledge of federal, state, and local permitting laws and processes.
