What We're Looking For

We are seeking a CNC Programmer to program the various machines in our Sheridan, WY manufacturing facility, responsible for interpreting project blueprints, designing programs, and setting up machines to produce the component outlined in the program. This person would perform test runs and make adjustments until the resulting products meet blueprint specifications. Individuals in this role can expect to work amongst various disciplines of Engineers,?Operations, and Maintenance professionals?in our manufacturing atmosphere. Ultimately, this role requires mechanical aptitude and strong attention to detail.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Skillset and desire?to learn about?the?variety of fabrication equipment and processes?within EMIT?operations?
  • Ensure a safe environment throughout?manufacturing practices, procedures, and?equipment?
  • Ability to prioritize and complete tasks and support production needs with limited?support?
  • Expand?and?execute?new?and enhanced?manufacturing technologies and?processes?
  • Ability to communicate detailed technical information?to a variety of?audiences
  • Meet with team members to review tasks based upon the True Tops FAB schedule?
  • Ability to program and troubleshoot an array of TruMatic machines
  • Ability to read technical drawings and set up the machines in accordance with these blueprints
  • Ability to use computer software to model cutting paths and program machines accordingly
  • Perform quality assurance tests to ensure products meet design specifications
  • Adjust machine cutting paths or settings to optimize production while maintaining quality
  • Consider tools required to cut particular materials and program machines accordingly
  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems with machines as they arise
  • Perform basic machine maintenance such as cleaning and sharpening
  • Train new employees on how to properly operate CNC machines and programs

Required Skills, Experience, and Education

Skills

  • Highly organized with strong planning abilities and excellent time management abilities and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of MS Office Suite
  • Previous work experience in manufacturing or similar industry
  • Able to multitask with a strong understanding of core project management duties
  • Strong written and oral communications skills
  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing setting is required
  • Familiarity and skill with interpreting technical drawings and blueprints
  • Skilled at troubleshooting and resolving mechanical or logistical problems that arise
  • Ability to work independently and closely follow directions is essential
  • Ability to maintain a positive and professional attitude
  • Available to work weekends and overtime

Experience & Education

  • 2-5 years’ experience with Automation, Robotics,?and/or Machine Programming?
  • CNC machine experience?
  • 2-3 years machine programming experience for CNC machine shop jobs
  • Previous machine?tool?operation knowledge?preferred
  • Self-starter with the ability to establish, prioritize, and organize?responsibilities?
  • Ability to generate new improvement ideas?and communicate them?clearly?

Education?

  • Associates degree?in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical Engineering or related field?
  • A combination of education and experience may be substituted for a?degree?
