Located in beautiful Sheridan, Wyoming, Mountain View Veterinary Hospital is a fully equipped veterinary facility staffed with an experienced and professional team. Role responsibilities and skills:

  • Welcoming clients and patients to the hospital and providing exceptional client service.
  • Attentive to client and patient needs, speaking clearly, calmly and slowly.
  • Provide prompt, courteous, and professional telephone and email communication.
  • Scheduling appointments and procedures.
  • Maintain proper documentation of client and pet records.
  • Requesting and organizing medical records to and from referring practices.
  • Handling financial transactions and following proper opening and closing procedures.
  • Demonstrate ability to show empathy toward clients and treat pets with compassion and respect.
  • Monitor client flow from check-in to discharge, prioritizing tasks in an organized manner.
  • May assist with retail sales and weigh pets when arriving for appointments.
  • Maintains housekeeping of reception and lobby area to ensure a neat and orderly appearance. Restocking of supplies in reception area and refreshments in lobby area.
  • Immediately informs doctors and/or technicians with any emergent patient situations when patient is in lobby area.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Previous veterinary/hospital experience is encouraged, but not required.
  • Basic computer skills. Experience with veterinary software is preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, good judgment, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks at once.
  • Ability to provide exceptional client service and process payment transactions accurately.
  • Must display empathy and compassion to clients and patients, especially during difficult and emotional situations.
  • Ability to maintain calm, professional composure in stressful situations.
  • Must be available to work some weekend and evening hours.
  • Follow OSHA standards by demonstrating proper use of PPE when required. Practice best safety precautions to prevent workplace hazards, ie: placing Wet Floor signs in visible area before mopping the floor and in place until the floor is dry and reporting any potential workplace hazards to management.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Tasks may involve prolonged periods of standing, reaching, walking, kneeling, crawling, bending, lifting, balancing, and crouching.
  • Tasks may involve periods of moderately physically demanding work involving lifting. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to work around sick or fractious animals, zoonotic diseases, hazardous materials and cleaning chemicals and anesthetic gas.
