TITLE: Habitat ReStore ManagerREPORTS TO: Executive Director (ED)DIRECT REPORTS: ReStore staff and other employees who may be temporarily assignedPOSITION SUMMARY: This position operates with guidance and assistance from the HFHEB ReStore Committee and is responsible for managing all phases of the ReStore. The Habitat ReStore mission is to generate revenue through the sales of donated, reclaimed, and purchased building materials, appliances, furniture and tools to support the activities of HFHEB. The ReStore Manager is responsible for operations of the store, community engagement, marketing, fundraising, financial growth and responsibilities, trainings and development of staff and volunteers, and overall represents the mission of HFHEB positively and with enthusiasm to the community.ResponsibilitiesOperationalOversee all retail operations and ensure consistent, smooth and efficient operations.Thorough knowledge and consistent practice of Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) and HFHEB ReStore policies & procedures.Responsible for driving donations, sales and profits for the HFHEB ReStore to further affiliates mission and work with various resources to positively promote HFHEB to the community.Supervise ReStore staff and volunteers and conduct performance reviews.Collaborate with Volunteer Coordinator for the recruitment of volunteers, training and appreciation.Responsible for purchasing inventory as needed through HFHI approved contacts and per HFHI regulations.Provide appropriate, regular staff/volunteer trainings.Ensure ReStore is adequately staffed and operated by associates with knowledge, skills, abilities and leadership to accomplish assigned tasks.May be required to prepare and deliver presentations in individual and group settings to create and expand relationships with current and prospective donors, civic/business organizations, governmental bodies and other non-profit organizations.Orient staff and volunteers to the HFHEB mission, policies & procedures, and the ReStore’s role and responsibility to the community.Maintain a safe work environment in compliance with the City of Sheridan Fire & Safety CodesMaintain a positive, energetic workplace environment for staff and volunteers.Supervise maintenance of facility and equipment.Fundraising and Community EngagementIdentify additional opportunities for fundraising and coordinate with the ReStore Committee and Executive Director’s fundraising plan.Responsible for planning and implementing at least two (2) community workshops per year and an annual open house.Public Relations, Marketing and AdvertisingWork with Executive Director and ReStore Committee to develop a Public Relations Plan in order to further the mission of Habitat ReStore and local affiliate.Responsible for advertising programs using variety of methods including: social media, in store advertisements and signage, and through customer and donor interaction.Responsible for creating measurements systems to determine customer satisfaction, program growth and opportunities, marketing/advertising effectiveness and donor retention/growth.Staff & Volunteer ManagementHire, train and manage ReStore Associates and volunteers.Evaluate, recognize and reward staff performance. Responsible for addressing violations of policy including safety, poor job performance or misconduct in a timely and appropriate manner. Properly document incidents, and develop corrective actions. Resolve situations involving volunteers in consultation with the volunteer coordinator and the Executive Director when required. Perform annual evaluations of all staff.Finance and AdministrationImplement and monitor systems for daily cash transactions and deposits as regulated as per HFHI and HFHEB regulations. Must maintain consistent and accurate accounting in order to be in compliance with HFHEB QuickBooks Accounting system.Provide accurate accounting records of revenues and expenses as required or requested.Approve employee recording of time worked.Submit invoices on a timely basis.Provide reports on store performance as needed. These reports could include inventory turnover, discounts and returns, earnings per hour, sales per square foot, profit margins, last year to current year sales comparison, cost per donation pick-up, break-even analysis and inventory management.Identify opportunities to reduce expenses and create increased operational efficiencies.Monitor expenses within budgeting constraints.Reporting and CommunicationsProvide monthly progress reports to Executive Director and ReStore Committee.Keep Executive Director informed appropriately and timely of operational and financial matters.Hold monthly staff/volunteer meetings and trainings.Required Skills and Experience A minimum of 3 years retail experience.Strong interpersonal and communications skills.Demonstrated ability in training, managing, leading and developing associates in a consistent, positive and safety conscious manner.Basic computer skills, including spreadsheets, word processing, social media, presentations and email.Ability to safely lift and position up to 50 lbs. Job could entail occasional bending, kneeling and reaching, often in awkward or tiring positions.
