Primary Responsibilities
In the role of Civil EIT/Coordinator, we'll count on you to:
- Assist the Senior Engineer with studies, designs, contract documentation preparation and graphic presentation
- Perform overall roadway/street layout, grading, utility layout and drainage
- Create detailed designs of water and wastewater treatment systems, collection and distribution systems under instruction from the Project Engineer
- Prepare plans for water and wastewater systems, write specifications, analysis and study-level reports for water and wastewater treatment distribution and collection systems, determine appropriate design methods, equipment sizing and selection, and work directly with the owner
- Work as a member of a design team in preparation of the following elements of roadway and highway design using local (state, county or city) or AASHTO standards: horizontal and vertical alignment, intersection layout and sight distance determination, interchange layout, roadway drainage, and right-of-way plans
- Perform routine engineering assignments requiring application of standard techniques and procedures
- Complete projects with clear, specified objectives and limited variables
- Perform administrative duties associated with project management for civil/site projects
- Work independently on small projects, or assist more-senior engineers on larger projects
- Perform other duties as needed
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, MicroStation a plus
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
Preferred Qualifications
- EIT certification strongly preferred. Candidates hired without their EIT will have the title of 'Coordinator' and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression.
