Material Handler - 2nd Shift

The material handler is responsible for the movement of material throughout the site. This may include loading/unloading of trailers and movement of raw materials, work in process (WIP) and finished goods.This role is 2nd shift 2p-10p M-FActivities and duties may vary depending upon site-specific needs. Essential functions may include, but are not limited to:Move material to/from raw, WIP, Finished, Shipping, Receiving, and manufacturing areas. Unload/load trucks/tankers with incoming/outgoing materials. - Verify materials against receiving/shipping documents. Complete appropriate transactions to document the movement of material within the Inventory Management System.Complete warehouse and departmental cycles counts and correct discrepancies.Help manage rack inventories.Pick up and transfer material racks, pallets, and other consumable supplies to/from production areas as required.Condense warehouse space and maintain good housekeeping.Perform all assignments, duties, and tasks safely following standard procedures and practices. Encourage others to do so. Correct and/or report all unsafe conditions immediately. Perform duties to improve quality and productivity continuously.Maintain a safe, clean work area. Assist in equipment maintenance activities as directed. Communicate and coordinate necessary information to appropriate department/shift employees to ensure effective operations. Lead in the recycling of pallets, cardboard, and scrap materials. Support all 5S housekeeping activities.Packing and palletizing, as needed.Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.Important Note:Avery Dennison places the highest value on the health and safety of our employees.  We have an obligation to ensure that employee job assignments are not likely to result in injury or illness.
