JOB SUMMARY:
Performs a wide variety of duties to ensure that the properties of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, School and Child Care Center are maintained and kept in good repair. Ensures that all building maintenance is scheduled and properly completed.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position will include but not limited to the following tasks:
1.) General maintenance and repair of all HVAC/Boiler systems.
2.) Ensure that all PM schedules are performed by contractors on required systems. (i.e. elevators, smoke detector, sprinkler system, kitchen hood system, fire extinguishers, fire doors and stage curtains).
3.) Keep the snow blower and lawn mower in good repair.
4.) Keep records for inspection purposes on all pending and completed repairs and PM activities.
5.) Inspect and do basic repairs of plumbing, electrical or any other building problems.
6.) Replace all burned out light bulbs and maintain an adequate supply.
7.) Ensure that all purchases are exempt from state sales taxes.
8.) Work harmoniously with Church, School. and Child Care Administrative Staffs to ensure that priority tasks get started and completed as required.
9.) Maintain inventory of building keys.
10.) Ensure heat and/or air conditioning is turned on and set appropriately.
11.) Cut grass and spray for weeds as needed.
12.) Keep all sidewalks and entrances free of ice and snow; salt when necessary.
13.) Ensure there is an adequate stock of paper and chemical supply.
14.) Provide milk order to the school secretary.
15.) Other duties as appropriate and assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1.) High School diploma or equivalent.
2.) Proficiency in math, reading, and written and oral communications.
3.) Duties include sitting, standing, walking, bending, squatting, crawling, kneeling, climbing and frequently lifting 50 lbs. and sometimes over 50lbs.
4.) Able to work in indoors or outdoors environments.
5.) Must have working knowledge of basic building maintenance and be skilled in the use of common tools, equipment, and materials used in cleaning and maintenance.
6.) Must be able to perform basic service on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
7.) Must be able to work with minimum supervision.
8.) Must have and maintain a valid Wisconsin driver’s license.
