Role Overview

A Tree Services Groundsman plays a crucial role in supporting arborists and tree care specialists in maintaining, pruning, and removing trees. This position involves working outdoors in various weather conditions, providing essential ground support, and ensuring the safety and efficiency of tree service operations.

Key Responsibilities

Ground Support

Assist arborists in tree service operations by providing ground support.

Prepare the worksite by setting up safety barriers and equipment.

Ensure all tools and machinery are available and in proper working condition.

Clear brush, wood chips, etc. to maintain clean working area.

Tree Maintenance

Perform basic tree maintenance tasks such as pruning, trimming, and branch removal.

Handle and dispose of tree debris, including branches, leaves, and wood chips.

Operate equipment such as chainsaws, wood chippers, and stump grinders safely and efficiently.

Safety and Compliance

Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries.

Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.

Adhere to local regulations and environmental guidelines for tree care and removal.

Equipment Maintenance

Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of tools and machinery.

Report any equipment malfunctions or damage to supervisors immediately.

Assist in the organization and storage of equipment and materials.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent.

Previous experience in tree care, landscaping, or a related field is preferred.

Basic knowledge of arboriculture and tree care practices.

Valid Drivers License

Extra compensation for valid CDL

Work Environment

Physical Demands

Work Hours
