We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.Job DescriptionRoles and ResponsibilitiesWe are looking for a software engineer with an interest for distributed systems and who wants to work on the "behind the scenes" technologies which enables computing devices to dynamically discover each other and exchange critical information in real-time. You will be working with the same technologies that have enabled the "Internet of Things" and apply them to a healthcare environment where a distributed system of patient monitoring devices must work together to seamlessly provide life critical information to healthcare professionals.In this role, you will:
Be responsible for defining, developing, and evolving software in a fast paced and agile development environment using the latest software development technologies and infrastructure.
Design and implement software for GE Healthcare's Mobile Digital Health products.
Work across the entire software development lifecycle including high-level detailed design, software implementation, verification (automated and manual), and maintenance activities.
Author software requirements and design specifications
Develop and execute unit, integration, and system tests to verify the design and implementation.
Apply technical expertise and oversight to ensure quality of design and implementation including compliance to GE Healthcare’s Quality Management System.
Collaborate with project team members using the Agile Scrum methodology.
Mentor other engineers on the team to develop high quality software (includes the use of static analysis tools, design reviews, code reviews).
Provide technical decision-making and guidance for the scrum team. Provide technical leadership, driving and performing engineering best practices to initiate, plan, and execute large-scale, cross-functional, and company-wide critical programs.
Support the team's effort in continuous improvement. Drive increased efficiency across the teams, eliminating duplication, leveraging product and technology reuse.
Support process improvements which guide the development, sustaining & support activities.
Work global scrum teams to align activities and deliverables.
Drive world-class quality in the development and support of products.
Write code that meets standards and delivers desired functionality using the technology selected for the project.
Understand performance parameters and assess application performance.
Proactively share information across the team, to the right audience with the appropriate level of detail and timelines.
Education Qualification :
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related computer degree.
4 years of professional experience in Software Engineering.
Strong knowledge of Object-Oriented Analysis and Design, Software Design Patterns
Strong Java and/or C software design, implementation, and testing skills.
Desired Characteristics Technical Expertise:
Experience or studies related to distributed systems, peer-to-peer networks or computer networking, networking sniffing.
Experience with Data Distribution Services (DDS).
Experience with service-oriented architectures and microservices.
Experience with RESTful services.
Experience with multi-threaded, concurrent systems.
Experience with Docker containers.
Experience with Gradle/CMake/Conan for build automation
Experience with Jenkins.
Experience with software provisioning, configuration and application deployment.
Experience with developing in a Linux-based environment.
Experience with Git for software configuration management.
Experience in Agile development practices: Test Driven Development (TDD), Behavior Driven Development (BDD).
