The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of experience and 3-5 years in a Quality/Test Lead position.Contact Lisa Austin with questions or concerns:[email protected] | 248.635.7492 location: Milwaukee, Wisconsinjob type: Contractsalary: $63 - 68 per hourwork hours: 8am to 5pmeducation: Bachelors responsibilities:Primary Responsibilities:- Review and provide feedback on functional/non-functional requirements to ensure quality is built into the product from the start.
- Ensure stories reach the definition of ready, user stories are testable and quality / testing issues are discussed during product backlog grooming and sprint planning.
- Get stories to the definition of done by either leading testing, pair testing with software engineers or reviewing testing activities that software engineers have performed.
- Work with the development team to create test plans and test cases
- Develop and execute test scripts using manual and automated testing as specified by client standards
- Document, communicate, and work to resolve all defects found during testing
- Seek team and stakeholder feedback on all test plans and test cases
- Diagnose, troubleshoot and research application/system issues as required and propose solutions to problems; provide resolution in a timely and accurate way, while ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Ensure defects are entered within the Enterprise Defect Tracking System with an appropriate sense of urgency and monitor/track progress through resolution
- Facilitate communications and/or meetings as needed to ensure all information has been received, content understood and any additional information needed has been provided
- Participate in all required meetings to gain additional requirement knowledge, confirm current state of project and stay apprised of any changes being made
- Create reusable test plans and test case templates and processes as needed
- Develop, execute, validate and document thorough and accurate regression and smoke test scenarios
- Must understand DQ's business practices and the applications/systems that support them
- Prepare documentation using tools such as Visio, Word and Excel
- Other duties as assigned
- Lead by mentoring less experienced members of the Software Quality Assurance team
- Allocate the teams resources and provide leadership to ensure all projects and initiatives are completed by deadlines and with high levels of quality
- Suggest, define, and implement new process and testing standards for the team
- Act as a resource to business stakeholders in their test plan and case development
- Take the test leadership role on projects and present overall testing team progress to stakeholders at all levels of the enterprise
- Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance the overall value, efficiency and effectiveness of the department
- BS degree or equivalent work experience or training in IT, Computer Science or related field
- 7+ years in the Software QE (or related) field, with 3-5 years serving as a Quality/Test Lead.
- Professional coding experience in C#, Java, Javascript or Ruby
- Experience using automation tools
- Proficiency with general office productivity software
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to communicate appropriately in a business context including verbal, written, interpersonal, organizational and public speaking
- Ability to work in a team setting including problem-solving, communication, and strong decision-making skills
- Ability to prioritize and organize multiple tasks with tight deadlines
- Ability to handle multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, result-driven environment
- Excellent analytical skills, as well as accuracy and attention to details
- Proven quality assurance analysis skills. Business 'subject matter expert' (SME) experience may qualify as equivalent experience.
- Ability to maintain productivity with shifting priorities and uncertainty
- Ability to set the overall direction for the team to provide continuous growth in effectiveness and capabilities
- Required to attend additional training as requested/deemed necessary
- Working knowledge of Selenium with C#Proficiency using common test management tools (e.g. TestRail, HP ALM)
- Breadth of experience in various QE-related roles from Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) through QE Management, including automation framework developer, performance engineer, defect manager, release manager, and data or environment manager
- Working knowledge of Team Foundation Server
- Experience level: Experienced
