The Fharmacy Public House in Lake Mills, sister location of Tyranena Brewing Company, is hiring a chef and kitchen manager to help guide a small team of amazing line cooks, prep cooks and dishwashers. The successful candidate would spend half to two-thirds of their time physically in the kitchen (on the line and prep cooking) but would also oversee and delegate tasks like product orders, managing the kitchen’s end of catering events, planning and orchestrating weekly specials and prep lists, following and training employees on proper food safety protocols, ensuring daily/weekly/monthly cleaning duties are completed to standard, etc.
Our kitchen manager must be kind and inclusive… our line cooks are aspiring and strive to do a great job but to also learn and grow in their field. We want them to be actively involved with the creative parts of back of house operations too! We also have some younger team members (student prep/line help and dishwashers) that are eager to learn more about the industry as well. Gordon Ramsey need not apply!
An average work week will typically be 35-40 hours, with two days off (generally consecutive), including rotating weekends. Wages are hourly and commensurate with experience; we believe in compensating employees for the hours that they are physically helping our restaurant to succeed. Scheduling is handled by the general manager of both locations, however, on occasion the kitchen manager may be called on to fill-in for an unplanned absence.
