Network Install Technician

Position Summary:

The Network Install Technician is dependable and hardworking. They are capable of learning, and willing to advance into other areas of the organization as the company continues to grow. This individual will be responsible for performing a variety of duties related to networking supported manufacturers equipment upon delivery, break fix of equipment, and resolving networking break fix calls. Additionally, they will be expected to provide onsite training when necessary.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

All areas of responsibility listed below are essential to the satisfactory performance of this position, with reasonable accommodation, if necessary. Any non-essential functions are assumed to be included in “other related duties as assigned”:

- Attend and pass basic training with each manufacturer supported in the region.

- Keep and maintain own car, stock-parts, supplies, and tools.

- Complete work orders/service log and service checklist upon a completion of service and networking calls.

- Install equipment and accessories at the locations designated by the customer.

- Network the printer or copier to customer’s network. Including loading print drivers, changing appropriate default settings, and set up scan to email and folder.

- Troubleshoot networking issues that may arise and pertain to the imaging equipment.

- Set up account tracking upon customer request.

- Close service and networking calls in a timely fashion.

- Update IT Glue with any pertinent information for the customer specific to locations, network information and passwords.

- Communicate with the software team when applicable to an install, including reporting the IP address and verifying the machine is on the network.

- Ability to train customers on site on how to use the machine in its entirety.

- Maintain timely response times.

- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment daily.

- Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:

- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

- Good mechanical aptitude.

- Great organizational skills with attention to detail.

- Ability to effectively perform duties with minimal supervision.

- Ability to perform under pressure and achieve deadlines and results.

- Good customer service skills dealing with internal and external customers.

- Basic computer and smart phone skills.

- Extensive working knowledge of PC’s, network hardware, operating systems, software, and network communication protocols including TCP/IP.

- Strong analytical and time management skills

- Team-orientated individual.

Education/Experience:

- High School Diploma/GED.

- Basic computer and smart phone skills.

- Previous office equipment repair experience a plus.

- Basic networking experience.
