Job Description: A press brake operator’s job is to operate all Cincinnati press brake machines (350 TON / 135 TON / 90 TON / 60 TON) to bend sheet metal for various designs. In this role, you will inspect blueprints for a job, set up your machine, perform regular maintenance, inspect metals while shaping it, and adjust as necessary. What you will do:
Can set up and operate the following machines: 60T, 90T, 135T, and 350T
Follow and understands procedures for programming and re-programming guarding functions of press brakes
Check height, depth and thickness using micrometers, dial indicators, calipers, gauges, and other precision-measuring instruments.
Ensure correct functioning and operation of press brake guarding at all times during regular press brake operation.
Understand how to manage daily work expectations and goals
Understand, interpret, and follows foreman’s report including priorities and start dates
Understand how to read material sheet tags and determine material types and gauges
Understand cross check concepts and inspects product according to Inspection Control Plan
Follow all safety policies and standard
Maintain accurate and timely system transactions
Can inspect and clean equipment including all preventative maintenance
Inspect own work for quality standards
Is capable and willing to train other employees
Other duties may be assigned
What you bring to the table:
The individual must have exposure to metal fabrication concepts and processes
Strong mechanical aptitude and mathematical skills
Must possess the ability to operate overhead cranes, tape measure, caliper, basic hand tools and air tools
Must be able to read and interpret blueprints
Can record time accurately including “time and attendance” and “labor reporting” using the data collection system
Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move 100 pounds with an assist
