Overview: Aston Carter is partnering with a local manufacturing company to hire a Controller (6 month contract-to-hire). This position is with a family-run company and offers a direct partnership with department heads to make process improvements.Description:

Oversee/prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

Provide timely, accurate, and complete financial information to external auditors and tax preparers.

Collaborate with internal departments to gather, analyze, and interpret relevant financial information.

Strong work ethic with the ability to lead teams and accomplish goals.

Oversee and manage all aspects of accounting operations including: billing, A/R, A/P, G/L, inventory/cost Accounting, bank reconciliations, revenue recognition, and tax filings.

Develop, implement, and ensure compliance with internal financial, accounting and general business policies, procedures and controls to safeguard company assets, ensure complete, accurate and time reporting and maximize shareholder wealth.

Review and provide final approval of employee expense reports and credit card expense statements.

Develop annual budgets and monthly rolling financial forecasts, while monitoring budget versus actual performance. Challenge assumptions within that reporting and optimize potential opportunities.

Act as a strategic owner and problem solver of the business including helping drive necessary changes in both personnel expansion and technology adoptions.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Manufacturing industry experience

5+ years month-end close ownership responsibility

Strong understanding of financial statement analysis

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance

Previous experience with Microsoft office, payroll software, and JobBOSS preferred.
