Summary:
This Shop Mechanic position is a full-time role at Ebert Enterprises. An individual who can work independently and contribute to our team by providing upkeep to machinery would be an ideal fit.
Qualifications:
Strong attention to detail
Ability to work with minimum supervision, multi-task and adapt to change
Ability to operate a variety of machinery: skid steers, payloaders, tractors, mixers, miscellaneous machinery
Ability to communicate effectively in English required; ability to communicate in Spanish is ideal
Ability to lift 50 pounds, kneel, climb, stand and remain upright, walk, move, sit and remain stationary
Awareness of your work environment to ensure safe work practices
Work Relationships:
Supervised by the Yard & Parts Manager. Works closely and maintains communication with barn team or any individual that utilizes a daily use item to complete their work responsibilities. May be required to give direction, yet this role has no direct reports.
Duties: Perform other related duties as assigned.
Safely work on and repair all daily-use machinery, includes but is not limited to:
o Skid steers
o Payloaders
o Manitou
o Forklifts
o Golf carts
o Tool cats
o Waste milk vehicle
o All attachments
Complete routine maintenance list which includes:
o Grease
o Blow out
o Fluids
o Tires
o Lights
o Proper operation of machine
o Identify/repair (potential problems)
o Keep records
o Maintain fluid changes (whole machine)
Diagnose problems, utilizing diagnosing equipment
Perform repairs and complete detailed documentation associated with repairs to be utilized by coworkers
Inspect and troubleshoot mechanical issues, always in the focus of preventative maintenance
Maintain inventory of well used parts, place orders, review invoices and submit for payment
Contact external support if issues cannot be troubleshot in-house
Listen to and ask further questions to operators, provide preventative instructions to operators
Perform cleaning maintenance on machines as well as detect any early signs of needed repairs
Assist with snow removal
Practice self-management (is on-time, works at a reasonable pace, maintains internal motivation)
Communicate work-related information with appropriate farm personnel
Work as a team member to solve problems and improve work processes
Work with co-workers in a friendly and professional manner
Work Schedule:
Full-time hours fluctuate depending on the time of the year. Participate in weekend rotation November-April months.
