The Opportunity

Delaware North Gaming is searching for a Regional Marketing Director to join our team at West Virginia supporting both Wheeling Island Gaming & Racing and Mardi Gras Casino & Resort. Our ideal candidate is experienced in the gaming and hospitality industries with experience leading and managing effective marketing efforts that drive revenue and engagement. You will use your skills to develop, implement, manage, and execute effective marketing plans that achieve optimum results and revenue objectives at Wheeling Island Hotel-Casino-Racetrack.

Responsibilities

  • In collaboration with the Vice President of Marketing, develop and implement effective marketing, sales policies, procedures, and programs to maximize utilization of facilities and programs at both properties.

  • Manage and coordinate the development and ongoing oversight of the annual marketing plan and budget.

  • Coordinate the identification of appropriate marketing initiatives to maximize the viability, including strategic and tactical marketing plans, business plans, and sales strategies.

  • Collects, analyzes, and communicates marketing and sales research and data.

  • Management of successful entertainment and player development programs including promotions, contests, giveaways, and rewards that aim to attract and retain customers and guests.

  • Manage all direct mail programs, public relations and related publicity, community relations, media advertising, creative services including graphic design, the marketing database and related activities.

  • Responsible for marketing department compliance with internal controls, WV Racing Regulations and WV Lottery Commission rules, regulations and requirements.

  • Effectively lead and manage the performance and development of the associates in the marketing department including their interviewing and selection, training and development, evaluation, coaching and counseling.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university required; advanced degree preferred.

  • 8 years' experience in casino marketing with at least three of those years being spent in a senior management position.

  • Experience in the gaming industry with knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and overall compliance for the gaming industry.

  • Experienced in vendor management across platforms, including print, digital, public relations, agency partnership, CRM, and more.

  • Must be able to obtain and retain a West Virginia Racing Commission license.

  • Intermediate computer skills required including experience with word processing, spreadsheets, database, email and internet.

  • Must possess outstanding organizational skills including the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Must possess exceptional communication skills including effective public speaking.

  • Must possess exceptional leadership skills with the ability to manage people effectively.
