Entry-Level Structural Engineer

AECOM is actively seeking an Entry-Level Structural Engineer for our Virginia Beach, Virginia office.This position is expected to begin immediately.As an Entry-Level Structural Engineer you will work with project teams in developing a range of engineering solutions from initial concept through to detailed design for implementation and support roles during the construction phase. This is a diverse role that will involve your contribution and insight to the effective delivery of its current and future portfolio of projects.The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:Preparing bridge design utilizing hand calculations, Excel workbooks, and advanced structural analysis software to determine applied loading, demand requirements, and appropriate foundation and member specifications under the supervision of an experienced engineer.Preparing technical sketches, drawings, specifications and reports under the supervision of an experienced engineer.Assisting with inspection of existing bridges, tunnels, and other structures.Coordinating with other in-house engineering disciplines as needed.Performing condition assessments and site visits as needed. Occasional short to medium term site visits may also become necessary depending on project requirements.
