MVB is hiring trusted partners on the financial frontier! The Director, Finance and Accounting Strategic Initiatives will be responsible for organizing and prioritizing critical issues of the department and preparing required information to facilitate efficient decision making.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner with CFO and other applicable stakeholders to identify, assign and implement process improvements. programs/projects using a project management framework focused on successful execution and sustainability of programs/projects.

  • Develop the process and prepare reports on identified areas of the organization such as cost savings, client analysis, margin analysis and new market opportunities.

  • Uses advanced technical knowledge to create overview and presentations for Senior Leadership, Board of Directors, and any applicable external parties such as investors or analysts.

  • Recommend and implement improvements in administrative workflows, procedures and forms to ensure efficient operations of the finance department.

  • Work with management on strategic planning and initiatives for growth opportunities in the organization.

  • Work with the CFO on M&A opportunities as it relates to negotiation, due diligence and review of legal documents. As well as leading the project plan for the transaction.

  • Identify issues for escalation and keep in constant communication with others to ensure follow through.

  • Lead and support additional finance projects, as necessary.

  • Develop robust project documentation, plans, timelines, and communication plans in support of all programs/projects that includes escalating risks as necessary.

  • Generate and track lagging/leading Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for finance department.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Finance or business related undergraduate degree preferred, with minimum of 8 years of relevant experience

  • Advanced organizational skills with high attention to detail

  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information and documents with the utmost confidentiality

  • Ability to multi-task, meet tight deadlines, and manage multiple priorities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office suite

  • Ability to understand and derive data relationships

  • Strong data analysis, leadership and presentation skills

  • Highly organized, driven and self-motivated

  • This role is temporarily remote and provides the potential to permanently work from home, dependent on location.
