The Bus Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of students to and from school, field trips, and other school-related activities. This role ensures the well-being of students during transit, maintains the cleanliness and operational readiness of the bus, and complies with all federal, state, and local transportation regulations.Key ResponsibilitiesSafely transport students to and from school and designated activities, adhering to assigned routes and schedules.Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip bus inspections to meet safety and operational standards.Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the bus interior and exterior.Ensure all students have departed the bus at the end of each route, ensuring students are not left unattended.Report any incidents, accidents, or mechanical issues promptly to the Transportation Manager.Attend all required training sessions, safety meetings, and professional development courses as KIPP Delta and ADE.Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption, and student attendance as required.Enforce school bus safety rules and maintain discipline among students during transit.Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff regarding transportation matters.This description outlines the primary duties of the position; however, CSSOs may be required to perform other job-related tasks as directed by a supervisor to ensure smooth school operations.Work Environment
