Utilizes measurement tools to assist in the assessment of pathophysiological, pathomechanical, and developmental deficits of human systems. Supervises: PTA's, Techs, Volunteers and Students.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

1. Graduate of accredited AMA/APTA approved school for Physical Therapy (B.S.) including supervised affiliations as required by the school.

2. Credentialed and Licensed by the State ofWest Virginia

3. BLS certified.

EXPERIENCE:CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:The statements described here are intended to describe the general nature of work being performed by people assigned to this position. 1. Examines the patient/client through history, systems review, and tests and measures upon referral from the physician. Plans appropriate treatment based upon the referral and the evaluation; establishes goals, methods of treatment and the patient's potential.

2. Performs treatments according to the established plan, utilizing appropriate procedures, equipment and techniques within the scope of Physical Therapy.

3. Documents in the medical records according to established criteria, including initial evaluations, progress reports, and discharge summaries.

4. Possesses the ability to recognize basic deviation from the norm regarding physical, mental and psychological status; documents these, along with objective treatment plan accordingly.

5. Designs care plans based upon evaluation using age appropriate treatment techniques and current evaluation and treatment methodology.

6. Develops measurable and realistic goals that are in accordance with the diagnosis, prognosis and findings.

7. Re-evaluates patients, assesses their progress and makes recommendations as to their disposition.

8. Educates the patients and/or caregivers about findings of the evaluation, established goals, methods of treatment and the patient's potential. Instructs patients and/or family members in home programs including injury preventions and the use of assistive devices, adaptive equipment and orthotics and prosthetics.
