Utilities Maintenance Tech II-R1100

Compensation: $23.33 per hour, plus benefits

Job Closing: June 13, 2022

There is one opening with the Yakima County Public Services Utilities Division. This position is responsible for performing a variety of specialized technical activities related to Safe Drinking Water Act Program to provide safe and reliable water service to customers within each County operated water and waste water systems. Ensures Clean Water Act NPDES waste discharge permit compliance with County’s wastewater systems to protect the environment and the public. Inspection of the construction of water and wastewater system repair / improvements.

In the event that no qualified candidates can be selected for the Utilities Maintenance Tech II position, Yakima County Public Services will consider filling the position as a Utilities Maintenance Tech I. Salary: $20.63 per hour, plus benefits.

Experience and Training:

Associate's Degree or two-year technical certificate in Engineering Technology or other related field AND three (3) years of related experience in water and/or in wastewater field; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides knowledge, skills and abilities sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.

MINIMUM QUALIFACTIONS FOR UTILITIES MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN I

Associates Degree in Engineering Technology or related field AND one (1) year related experience which provides knowledge, skills and abilities sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job. Certifications WDM I or WTPO I are not required at time of appointment. Water Distribution Manager I or Wastewater Treatment Plan Operator I certification required within twelve (12) months of employment.
