Blu Water Homes is seeking residential carpenters and laborers to join our growing team. This is a full-time, hands-on position from framing to finish. The ideal candidates must be responsible, organized, and can interface with clients and subcontractors. You will be responsible for completing tasks directed by the superintendent.
Carpenter Responsibilities and Duties:
Rough Carpentry including layout and assembly of the following:
o floor systems.
o wall systems.
o roof systems.
o stair systems.
o deck systems.
o backing/blocking.
Finish Carpentry including layout and installation of the following:
o Cabinets and built ins.
o Doors.
o Millwork.
o Hardware.
o Windows.
o Decking.
o Railings.
o Punch List Work (drywall touch up, painting, caulking, etc.).
Must have knowledge of other building trades and the ability to coordinate with other trades.
Must have knowledge of high-end building materials and assemblies.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team, depending on the task.
Ability to be responsive to client needs as changes and adjustments occur.
Ability to be proactive and not reactive with materials and resources.
Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines, and reporting.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Organized with good time management skills.
Ability to stand for prolonged periods, climb, pull, and lift heavy objects.
Laborer Responsibilities and Duties:
Site cleanup and scrap outs.
Receive and offload deliveries.
Install and maintain safety railings, site protection, security fencing, site signage, and similar.
Assist carpenters as needed (framing to finish).
Ability to work independently or as part of a team, depending on the task.
Ability to be proactive and not reactive with materials and resources.
Organized with good time management skills.
Ability to stand for prolonged periods, climb, pull, and lift heavy objects.
Requirements Prior to Hiring:
Must have your own hand tools and power tools. Blu Water Homes will provide any large specialty tools (table saw, miter saw, etc.) and will pay for all consumables (bits, blades, etc.).
Valid Washington State Driver’s License.
Ability to pass a background check, driving record check, and drug test.
Valid forklift card (preferred, but not required).
Valid aerial lift card (preferred, but not required).
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 (preferred, but not required).
