ABOUT OUR WINERY:
Karma Vineyards is a well-established and growing wine producer in the pacific northwest. Known for being the first Method Champenoise house in Lake Chelan, Karma has blossomed into producing some of the best sparkling wines across the region. We are looking for someone to join our production team for harvest. POSTED POSITION:
Harvest cellar workers at Karma Vineyards are responsible for assisting in all wine production activities in a way that ensures premium wine quality and maintains a clean and safe work environment. The position reports to the winemaker. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to performing the following:
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support in cellar operations with moderate supervision in a manner that is consistent with winemaking directions and ensures wine quality. Cellar operations include: cleaning and sanitizing tanks and equipment, receiving and processing grapes, operating winery equipment, transferring juice and wine to tanks and barrels, topping barrels and maintaining empty barrels.
Assist in sparkling wine finishing operations of riddling and disgorging.
Support in labeling and applying final packaging in a conscientious manner.
Maintain and store winery equipment and supplies in a clean and organized fashion.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Must be available to work weekends.
Must be able to perform work duties in and outdoors.
Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to work in various temperature conditions, with moderate noise levels.
Must have the ability to enter confined area works spaces.
Must be able to follow production procedures and complete cellar tasks in a timely and conscientious manner.
Forklift experience beneficial but not required.
