Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Dental Assistant to join our team. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in assisting the dentist and providing high-quality dental care to our patients. Duties:
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations and procedures
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures, including taking X-rays, applying topical anesthetics, and passing instruments
- Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment
- Take impressions of patients' teeth for study models
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and post-operative care instructions
- Maintain accurate patient records and update medical histories
- Schedule patient appointments and manage the dental office's appointment calendar
- Assist with billing and insurance claims processing
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited dental assisting program
- Current certification in dental assisting (CDA) preferred
- Proficiency in Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or similar dental practice management systems
- Knowledge of medical terminology, dental procedures, and medical coding
- Familiarity with infection control protocols and aseptic techniques
- Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively interact with patients of all ages, including pediatric patients
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Basic knowledge of dental anatomy
