Kitchen Staff is responsible for a specific role in the kitchen such as preparing vegetables, frying food, operating the grill or baking desserts. They are responsible for preparing specific food items and meal components at their station. They follow directions provided by the head chef and collaborate with the rest of the culinary team to ensure high-quality food and service. They also keep their area of the kitchen safe and sanitary and stocktake and relay needed for supplies for their station and the kitchen in general.
Outlined Responsibilities:
● Maintaining Station, Including but not limited to:
○ Sanitation
○ Stocking
○ Prep (Knifework & General Mise en Place)
○ Relaying ingredients needed on next orders
● Maintain current and updated food handlers permit
● Maintain all presentation styles, and quality of food.
● Demonstrate professional and sanitary quality of appearance for self and vocabulary (Cussing, swearing, low volume of voice, professional attire, general hygiene upkeep)
● Maintain a safe work environment for self and fellow employees
Requirements:
● Must have reliable mode of transportation
● Attend required all staff and culinary staff meetings
● Open availability of weekends and nights
● Ability to follow oral and written instruction
● Ability to function well under pressure
● Moderate physical requirements (lifting up to 50 lbs, ability stand for 8+ hours)
● Attention to detail and adherence to plating styles and overall presentation
● Ability to manage time proficiently
● Ability to organize tasks and station efficiently
● Ability to work in conditions that may be hot, noisy and stressful
