Versant Media Field Operations is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Full-Time ENG (Electronic News Gathering) Photographer to join our broadcast news gathering team. This role will report to the Manager Field Operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in news photography, technical expertise with professional camera and lighting equipment, and the ability to thrive in high-pressure, fast-paced environments. This role requires flexibility, creativity, and a passion for visual storytelling.What You’ll Do:· Maintain a professional demeanor and attention to detail under pressure.· Capture high-quality video and audio content for daily news coverage, live broadcasts, and special reports, in live and prerecorded environments that enhance storytelling.· Operate a wide range of professional broadcast camera systems, lighting equipment, audio gear, and bonded cellular or satellite transmission systems.· Collaborate closely with reporters, producers, and assignment editors to ensure visually compelling and editorially sound storytelling.· Ensure all shots meet network standards for quality and editorial integrity.· Safely transport, set up, and break down equipment on location.· Quickly adapt to breaking news scenarios, adjusting coverage plans and equipment setups as needed.· Maintain all assigned equipment in good working order; report and coordinate repairs and replacements as necessary.· Apply creative techniques in lighting, composition, and camera movement to enhance storytelling.· Assist with live shot setups, including lighting, framing, and IFB/mic coordination for on-air talent.· Monitor and troubleshoot live transmission feeds from the field as required.· Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies during field assignments.· Work flexible hours, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call assignments.· Prioritize and manage multiple production assignments simultaneously.
