Referral Coordinator

Description We are seeking a diligent Referral Coordinator to join our team in the healthcare sector. This position is located in Tacoma, WA and necessitates the candidate to work on-site. As a Referral Coordinator, your responsibilities will include processing incoming referrals, liaising with medical specialists, and communicating referral updates to patients. Responsibilities: Manage incoming referrals from various sources and ensure their accurate recording and processing. Carry out necessary research for complex referrals such as verifying insurance details and identifying specialists who accept specific insurance plans. Liaise with medical specialists and patients to provide updates on the status of referrals. Use the department inbox in NextGen and Office Suite for referral coordination and communication. Manage patient walk-ins and coordinate with nurses or medical assistants as required. Ensure all referral coordination activities, including status updates and requests for additional patient information, are efficiently managed through incoming and outgoing phone calls. Take the lead in community outreach and resource management as part of the referral coordination process.
