Finish Carpenter - Residential and Commercial Remolding and Restoration

Location: Spokane, WA

Our growing company is looking for experienced finish carpenters to help with remodels and restoration of damaged residential and commercial buildings. Applicants must be versatile, detail oriented and have good problem-solving skills. Our ideal candidate is comfortable working in diverse settings to produce steady and functional infrastructure and products, possessing great hand dexterity and an eye for detail. Good working knowledge of wood properties and other carpentry materials and the use of all necessary tools is a must. S/he should be capable of working with little supervision while following all health and safety standards and be able to communicate well. Carpenters will provide their own vehicle and tools. We require a good driving record, valid license and insurance. We provide a friendly, team-based work environment, competitive compensation and great benefits. This is a drug free workplace.

Essential Job Tasks:

Prepares wood materials for installation: measures, saws, lifts.

Installs wood materials, eg, doors, paneling, windows, hardware.

Installs cabinets.

Builds and installs railings, wood frames, molding.

Assists with area cleanup.

May also assist laborer and other carpenters. May rotate finish carpenter jobs; one day measures/saws wood materials and next day may install wood materials.

Works all shifts, including varying shifts, extended hours, overtime.

Assists with problem solving.

May perform other duties as assigned.

Perform variety of finish and rough carpentry services consistent with plan specifications (i.e. interior and exterior framing; window and door installment; siding; roofing; stairs and handrails; decks; floor systems; drywall; cabinet fabrication; finish carpentry; etc.)

Perform work on reconstruction projects (i.e. sheetrock, painting, case and base, etc.)

Accurately interpret plan specifications; ensure proper selection and install of materials.

Responsible for making sound decisions; ability to accurately evaluate self-performance.

Ability to work and communicate cooperatively and effectively with residents, clients, customers, and team personnel.

Ensure and promote proper safety protocol.

Degree of Supervision Required:

Minimal supervision; reports to Project Manager. Receives work instructions from Project Manager.

Safety:

Demonstrates knowledge and compliance with all company safety policies and procedures.

Ensures and contributes to a safe environment for customers and employees; keeps current with and adheres to OSHA and safety training requirements.

Must wear safety glasses, safety harness, hard hat, hearing protection, respiratory protection when needed.

May wear rubber boots, gloves, knee pads.

Requirements:

high school education or equivalent

US citizen or authorization to work in the US

physically able to do the work

capable of lifting at least 50 lbs

reliable transportation to job sites

5+ years' experience in residential finish work and remodeling.

Salary: $20+ HR (Depending on Experience)
