Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced educator to serve as a Teacher/Proctor for several 8th & 9th graders. These students are part of a hockey academy where they train in the morning and have online schooling in the afternoon. This role involves ensuring smooth operations of virtual classrooms, supporting student learning, and maintaining a structured online environment conducive to academic growth and engagement.
Hours
12:30pm-3:30pm, Monday-Thursday
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate online classes according to the prescribed curriculum, utilizing digital tools and platforms effectively.
- Monitor student attendance, participation, and progress through virtual learning environments.
- Provide instructional support, clarify doubts, and conduct virtual office hours for student consultation.
- Assess student work, assignments, and exams, providing constructive feedback to foster academic improvement.
- Collaborate with subject teachers to develop and implement effective teaching strategies tailored to online learning.
- Maintain regular communication with students and parents/guardians regarding academic performance and any concerns.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Proven experience in teaching, preferably in middle or high school settings.
- Familiarity with online teaching platforms (e.g., Zoom, Google Classroom, Moodle) and educational technology tools.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage effectively in a virtual environment.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks independently.
- Patience, adaptability, and a passion for fostering student learning and development.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Teaching certification/licensure.
- Experience with curriculum development or instructional design for online education.
- Prior experience in proctoring or monitoring student activities in an educational setting.
