Controller
Job Overview
The Controller is responsible for managing and directing the accounting function in the company, including establishing operational policies and organizational structure in the accounting area to ensure processes, policies, controls, and procedures are established and followed.
Responsibilities
Responsible for all accounting functions, including overseeing A/R, A/P, Inventory, General Ledger, and Payroll.
Produce financial reports; provide analysis of trends, deviations, or other relevant information to company management on a regular and ongoing basis.
Perform ongoing review of internal controls to ensure accounting procedures and financial reports follow US GAAP and internal accounting policies. Identify areas for improvement and implementation.
Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
Review and balancing of bank accounts.
Serve as primary contact with its certified public accountant.
Assist in preparation of reviewed financial statements and tax returns.
Participate in data entry as necessary to maintain detailed knowledge of bookkeeping.
Involved in the Company’s financial planning and investing.
Perform required monthly multi state tax reporting.
Confidentially handling of sensitive information.
Oversee common owned real estate entities.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
5-10 years of accounting experience in the business environment.
Familiarity with Foundation Accounting Software would be a plus.
Knowledge in Microsoft Excel and Word.
Familiarity of completed contract accounting method.
Knowledge of payroll processes and reporting requirements.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Thorough knowledge of general ledger accounting and account reconciliation.
Ability to see the “big picture” while maintaining a strong attention to detail.
Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively across the organization.
