General Job Description
Dogwood Industries is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Forklift Operator for our Factory in Sedro-Woolley. Dogwood Industries provides custom prefabricated steel buildings for commercial, military, and industrial clients. Our scope of services includes design, manufacturing and supply of proprietary building solutions, including structural steel fabrications and electrical and mechanical systems.
The core mission of the Forklift Operator is to facilitate the safe and efficient receipt and storage of the materials used in the manufacturing processes. The Forklift Operator is responsible for unloading materials from incoming trucks, and moving and unloading materials throughout the factory. The Forklift Operator will also be responsible for other tasks including clean-up, sweeping, emptying dumpsters, and cleaning steel. The Forklift Operator spends a significant portion of their time outside and must be comfortable working in inclement weather.
All other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications
5+ years experience as a forklift operator, ideally in an industrial setting moving large structural steel stock safely
Ability to read and write English
Knowledge of various material handling equipment
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
High school diploma or equivalent

Physical Requirements
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to have full range of mobility in upper and lower body, able to reach overhead, able to work in various positions, including, but not limited to, stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling, squatting; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance for extended periods of time. Be able to lift, pull and push material and equipment to complete assigned job tasks. Be able to lift 25 pounds of weight throughout assigned workday if required. The employee will be exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, fumes and odors. This position requires physical activity performing somewhat strenuous daily activities in a primarily production environment. The work environment characteristics here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

Hourly rate, starting at $18/hour, DOE. The company offers a medical/vision and dental plan, 401(k), and paid time off to eligible employees.
