Basic Responsibilities

Responsible for enhancing the reputation of the Channel Lodge & Country Inn through securing guest satisfaction. Maintaining a professional and courteous attitude while promptly assisting individual guests as well as groups. Resolving minor complaints and adjustments promptly and appropriately while ensuring the highest level of customer service at all times for all guests.

Essential Functions

 Provide exceptional customer service to all guests

 Making new reservations over the phone as well as in person using terminal

 Modifying current reservations over the phone as well as in person using terminal

 Posting charges, voids, and advance deposits to guest folio

 Balancing till and cash sheets

 Answering multi-line telephone system

 Assist guests checking into and out of the hotels with questions and concerns

 Making guest reservations for dinner, massages, cruises etc.

 Ensuring hotel lobby and other community areas are always tidy

 Stock brochures, flyers and front desk items

 Occasionally cleaning, bussing, and setting of conference rooms

 Communicating well with co-workers and Supervisors at all times

Education and Skills Required

Education

Successful completion of high school preferred.

Skills

 A minimum of one year experience working in customer service

 Ability to work accurately and perform detailed work

 Ability to operate a variety of office equipment (10-key, typewriter keyboard, personal computer, fax machine, multi-line phone system)

 Ability to function effectively as a member of a team

 Ability to think and act independently with guidelines

 Must demonstrate ability to exercise judgment, initiative, and tact in dealing with guests and co-workers

 Must maintain confidentiality at all times

 Continuous talking in person and on the telephone

 Continuous interactions with others (primarily day shifts)

 Continuous periods working alone (primarily evening shifts)

 Frequent attention to detail

 Continuous use of judgments, reasoning, and patience resolving problems

 Continuous use of initiative and problem-solving ability

Environmental Demands

 Continuous travel between two locations in La Conner

 Continuous schedule adjustments to work morning, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

 Exposed to potentially hazardous conditions, i.e., robbery
