We are recruiting for the following position: Community Navigator Vaccine Trial ? Posting #20925Position Summary: Full-time temporary (6 months) position available immediately in Seattle ? South Park. This position offers full benefits for the duration of 6 months. The Community Navigator is an integral part of the collaboration between Sea Mar and the vaccine research center (VRC) team and works closely with investigators and clinicians to enroll and follow research subjects. The Community Navigator will also work closely with the Managers of Program Operations at both Sea Mar and the UW VRC. The Community Navigator will support and assist with all efforts of planning, implementation, and execution of community engagement and recruitment of participants for COVID-19 prevention studies from Sea Mar clinics.The Community Navigator will support the efforts in coordination with the UW Coronavirus Vaccine Project Network (University of Washington/CoVPN) program to outreach, inform and educate the community as well as support the trial investigators and staff to outreach and stay connected with participants in the greater Seattle area. Please see additional duties below:Outreach to various sectors of the population, including community events to engage and educate the public regarding the vaccine product to be deployed at Sea Mar.

Work with the trial team to engage potential participants and connect interested individuals to the trial staff.

Create and utilize available health/COVID-19 information for different platforms to educate the community.

Work with outside partners, including the University of Washington/CoVPN vaccine unit to coordinate community outreach activities and education.

Help with outreach to participants including difficult to reach individuals.

Provide technical and education support to trial participants, families and those interested to participate in the vaccine program.

Participate on calls, meetings and planning sessions with the team working on the clinical trial or other important activities related to COVID-19 and public health.

Connect participants to transport or other resources they request.

Take every precaution to assure the patient and alleviate the emotional stress of patient as well as family members

Must have the unique ability to safely multi-task concurrently with addressing the broad range of requests from the community

Help with onboarding and linking participants to electronic communications, and with other software required to track information related to the clinical trial.

Clerical work as needed. (i.e. filing, telephone calls, scheduling, adding electronic notifications, and other activities as needed)

Attends staff meetings as requested.

Qualifications:Bilingual: must be fluent in both Spanish and English

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Strong computer/keyboarding skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access

Previous experience maintaining patient confidentiality strongly required.

Ability to multi task with competing priorities

Background in medical and/or clinical research terminology strongly preferred.

Ability to work well with a variety of team members and patients

Knowledge and demonstrated ability to adhere to infection control policies

Dependable and reliable

Ability to use mature judgment with sensitive situations

Excellent customer service skills with the ability to successfully work with a wide variety of patients

Knowledge and application of confidentiality and HIPAA regulations.

Desired Qualifications: Previous experience in infectious disease research
