Local construction company seeking full time heavy equipment mechanic / fabricator.

BDZ Construction is searching for a Heavy Equipment Mechanic/ Fabricator. This position is responsible for the repair and maintenance of heavy equipment. Also performs can be involved in field repairs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities

Assists in loading and unloading of equipment and materials

Assists in service and repair of company-owned equipment

Basic trouble shooting skills for a variety of equipment manufacturers and vehicles Maintain clean driving record at all times

Operates company vehicles safely and in accordance with traffic rules and regulations

Performs preparation and cleanup of construction equipment as directed by Equipment Manager

Promptly reports equipment problems, shortages, or unsafe conditions to Equipment Manager

Repair and complete ongoing maintenance/service of heavy equipment both at Shop and jobsites

Uses sound judgment to deal with and eliminate safety related issues

Utilizes company tools and equipment safely and properly

Maintains clean, safe work environment for self and team members

Troubleshooting/repair on all types of equipment.

Equipment ranges from chainsaws, small generators to dump trucks, dozers, excavators and more.

Keeping up on digital work orders.

Welding of wear parts on buckets and blades.

Understands company safety program and follows appropriate protocols when working on equipment.

Minimum Experience:

Mechanical work experience: 1 years preferred

Basic Knowledge of welding and fabrication.

Heavy equipment (loaders, excavators, backhoes etc.) experience a plus but willing to train motivated individuals.

Qualifications

Heavy equipment experience required, construction experience preferred

Experience with dump trucks, excavation equipment

Diesel, gas, electrical, hydraulic knowledge, including parts manuals

Automotive repair experience a plus

Welding and fabrication experience preferred

Able to lift 50lbs, bend, twist, and stand for long periods of time

Clean Driving Record required

Driver’s license, CDL class A or B a plus

Basic set of tools to perform maintenance on trucks/heavy equipment

Schedule:

Full time position, start at 7:00am at shop in Maltby Monday through Friday

Daily overtime to be expected.
