Buchanan General Contracting is looking for a Superintendent to join their team. We have 2 jobs needing Superintendents, one on Vashon Island and the other in Tacoma. This is a fulltime on position.
We've been in business for 40 years and specialize in working with non-profit organizations to provide housing and human services, including family shelter remodels, multi-family occupied rehabs, tiny homes, and community centers.
Pay is weekly. No relocations.
Remodels and new builds are no more than 5 stories and typically 3-16 million. Our carpentry staff works on diverse tasks including concrete, rough carpentry, finish carpentry, cabinets, windows, doors and finish hardware. All other trades are subbed. We do not do single family residential homes or condos. The work we do can be very rewarding.
Some of the requirements include:
Treating employees, inspectors, subcontractors, and clients with respect.
Willing to work with bags on at times
Manage a team of workers, including work schedules, project progress and resource allocation
Work closely with the Project Managers, other construction management to determine project needs
Conduct and document safety meetings and requirements
Coordinate materials and equipment delivery with vendors and suppliers
Create 2-week look ahead schedules for workers and subcontractors
Maintain a daily log for the job site’s operations, weekly safety meeting, reporting to management as necessary
Make changes in the operation as necessary to best meet construction deadlines
Attend weekly company meetings and weekly/bi-weekly OAC meetings
Must be legal to work in the US
