Cabinetmaker / Drafter – Flexible Role

Compensation: DOE

Benefits: PTO (vacation/sick, 5 paid holidays), medical (after 2 months), retirement plan (after 1 year)

Employment Type: Full-time

Experience Level: Mid-level

Hours: 6 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

About the Role

We are seeking a Cabinetmaker/Drafter to join our high-end custom cabinetry team. This role is unique in that it blends technical drafting with hands-on cabinetmaking, and requires a high degree of flexibility and initiative. The right candidate will thrive in a setting where priorities can shift from week to week — one day producing detailed shop drawings, the next day assisting on the shop floor, and the next day out on site taking measurements.

Our ideal team member is highly organized, resourceful, and eager to contribute wherever the company needs support to move projects forward.

Key Responsibilities

Drafting & Pre-Production

Create detailed shop drawings in Cabinet Vision (2–3 years minimum experience required)

Translate architect/designer plans into production-ready drawings

Generate cut lists, CNC files, and material take-offs

Package complete drawing sets for review and production

Cabinetmaking & Shop Support

Assist with cabinet fabrication and assembly, including casework, face frames, and specialty components

Support finishing preparation: sanding, edge-banding, veneer layup, and detailing

Participate in hardware installation, fit and alignment checks, and final adjustments

Collaborate with shop foreman to ensure drawings translate cleanly to the build process

Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment

Field Work & Project Support

Conduct field measurements (DISTO experience a plus)

Participate in site visits and client/architect/GC meetings as needed

Troubleshoot jobsite details and document changes for shop integration

Provide support with deliveries, installations, or client showroom visits on occasion

General Support

Assist operations manager with reviewing and updating drawings

Maintain organized documentation throughout the project lifecycle

Step into other areas of the workflow as needed — this is a “do what it takes” role where adaptability is essential

Skills & Qualifications

Cabinet Vision drafting expertise (2–3 years minimum)

Hands-on cabinetmaking skills, including joinery, assembly, and finishing techniques

Familiarity with shop equipment such as table saws, edge-banders, CNC routers, and related tools

Strong problem-solving skills; able to pivot quickly between priorities

Ability to read and interpret architectural and interior design drawings

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)

Highly detail-oriented and organized, with strong proofreading skills

Clear written and verbal communication skills

Reliable transportation

Who We’re Looking For

You are the right fit if you:

Take pride in both craftsmanship and accuracy of drawings

Enjoy variety and don’t want to be locked into a single type of task

Can switch gears between drafting, fabrication, and site support with ease

Value teamwork and professional collaboration with designers, clients, and shop staff

Are resourceful, adaptable, and motivated to keep projects moving forward

Why Join Us?

This position is a chance to blend shop-floor craftsmanship with technical drafting expertise in a company that produces high-end, custom cabinetry. You’ll gain exposure to every stage of the process — from drawings to build to installation — and contribute to projects that demand the highest level of detail and quality. No two weeks will look the same, but each week will bring opportunities to learn, grow, and contribute to meaningful projects.
