Job Summary
Reporting to the Assistant Store Manager, the Donation Receiver is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service and fostering positive interactions with customers and donors. This role involves receiving and handling all donations directly from donors while ensuring a welcoming and organized donation process.
Additionally, the Donation Receiver is responsible for organizing daily donations and greeting donors as they arrive. Donations may include items such as tables, bed frames, couches, artwork, rugs, and more. Under the supervision of the Assistant Store Manager, the Donation Receiver will assess the showroom floor weekly to determine any necessary special promotions to help move inventory. The ability to quickly process donations directly impacts daily revenue.
Responsibilities
Greet donors warmly and provide excellent customer service.
Receive donations Wednesday through Sunday from 10:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
Meet with the Assistant Store Manager at the beginning of each shift.
Handle donations with care, including greeting donors, assisting with unloading, and issuing receipts.
Maintain a clean and well-organized work area and showroom.
Communicate effectively with the Assistant Store Manager and thrift store staff to support overall operations.
Collaborate with thrift store volunteers responsible for booking donations.
Understand and comply with donation policies, including restrictions on prohibited items.
Ensure donated items that require pricing are brought to the appropriate volunteers.
Assist with moving furniture and other items around the store for staging.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Skills and Abilities

Excellent oral and written communication skills with strong command of the English language.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Proficiency in learning and using POS systems and Microsoft Office software.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Physical Demands
Regularly lift and move up to 10 pounds.
Frequently lift or move up to 25 pounds.
Occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
