Learn about wine, and assist a growing online business
Hello beverage professionals! Medium Plus is seeking some help in our expanding business, which is a very unique side gig for those in the industry looking to add something new. This is an "apprentice" position, meaning you will learn directly on the job.
Working directly with Master Sommelier Nick Davis, this is a 1-on-1 assistant position, which will be an influential role in our growing company.
About Medium Plus:
- We maintain a 6,000 bottle cellar of rare wine, which is offered to private clients in both the Seattle area and around the country. We're basically a fancy wine retail shop, but without a public storefront.
- In addition to the retail, we do tasting events in Seattle, for wine lovers of all levels.
The job:
- Our business is online, and requires a "front desk" type of role to shoulder some of the administrative, email-based tasks that arise from day to day.
- Scheduling will be flexible, but within the hours of 10am - 4pm, Monday thru Friday.
- This could be a perfect role for someone who already finds themselves at the computer during the day, with a bit of extra time for taking on tasks.
Goals for the position:
- Learn the internal systems and inner-workings of the business, including sales, finance, marketing, accounting, and program development.
- Help with setting new company goals, and staying on track with current tasks. Brainstorm new solutions to challenges and sticking points.
Location:
- Primarily virtual, excellent for someone who has daytime availability
- Monthly in-person meetings in Fremont / Phinney Ridge
Skills NOT required:
- Wine knowledge of any kind
Recommended attributes:
- Computer access, preferably with Windows 10 / Windows 11
- Reliable, with high integrity and positive attitude
- A passion for learning and developing new skills
- Consistent transportation for in-person meetings
