Executive Director for Manufactured Housing Community Preservation (MHCP) is a mission-driven nonprofit dedicated to preserving manufactured housing communities as a critical source of affordable housing for low-income households. MHCP acquires, renovates, develops, and operates these communities to ensure long-term affordability and stability for residents across western Washington.

Leadership & Strategy

Collaborate with the Board of Directors to develop policies, strategic plans, and organizational goals.

Ensure effective implementation of policies, plans, and the overall mission of MHCP.

Represent MHCP to public funders, policymakers, task forces, industry groups, and affordable housing partners. Build MHCP online and advocacy presence.

Organize and facilitate board meetings, prepare Executive Director reports, and conduct annual membership meetings including board elections.

Property Acquisition & Development

Oversee current/ongoing publicly funded 30-space development project in design/permitting stage.

Identify, research, and pursue opportunities to acquire, renovate, and develop manufactured housing communities.

Facilitate transactions for property acquisition and oversee renovation and development projects.

Operations & Compliance

Coordinate daily operations including property management functions, resident relations, and community policies.

Ensure regulatory compliance, including grant conditions, funder reporting, household income certifications, and WBARS submissions.

Maintain operational policies and procedures to support effective community management and organizational sustainability.

Staff Leadership & Supervision

Oversee MHCP staff including On-Site Property Managers, Maintenance Manager, Controller and Administrative staff.

Hire, supervise, and evaluate all staff members.

Foster a collaborative, mission-focused work culture that reflects MHCP’s values and commitment to serving diverse, low-income populations.

Finance/Fundraising/Grants

Work with the Controller to prepare budgets, annual audits, financial reports, and to ensure fiscal health.

Research, identify, and apply for private and public funding to support property acquisition, development, and operations.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) required.

Minimum 3 years in a management role with staff supervision, preferably in a nonprofit setting.

Demonstrated ability to develop and implement policies, procedures, and strategic plans.

Experience in affordable housing, property management, or real estate development. Familiarity with manufactured housing communities, housing laws, and regulations preferred.

Knowledge of public and private funding mechanisms for real estate preferred.

Strong understanding of nonprofit operations, audits, and compliance.

Spanish language skills preferred.

Salary Range: $200k-$240k, Paid health/dental insurance; 75% paid spouse/dependent health/dental; 2% SIMPLE retirement contribution; 11 paid holidays; 2weeks personnel time first year with increase until maximum 6 weeks after 7 years.
