WORK SCHEDULE: This position is full-time regular and non-exempt and may require working days, evenings, nights and weekends and alternate work locations. This position works a variety of (5) 8-hour shifts that may include at least one weekend shift and holidays. Shifts are generally the following: Day Shift (8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.) and Swing Shift (4:00 p.m. - 12:00 a.m.). Residential programs operate 24/7 - 365 days a year and must be staffed during that entirety.

Based on program needs, applicants who are fluent in Spanish, French, Arabic, Tigrinya, Dari, and Pashto will receive an additional $2.00 per hour language differential.

ABOUT URM PROGRAM: This transitional living program serves unaccompanied refugees ages 16-20, providing a stable residential environment with supportive staff. Residents pursue educational goals and develop the life skills that will help them transition to stability and independence. This housing program is open 24/7, 365 days a year.

POSITION SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Program Supervisor, the Engagement Specialist is responsible for the daily management of the program site. All housing programs are open 24/7 and per agency licensing requirements, programs must maintain safe staff and client ratio to provide services to our clients. In conjunction with other staff, the Engagement Specialist’s task is to create a safe and caring environment for vulnerable young people in residence who are preparing to transition to become more self- sufficient. The position requires an individual who can actively contribute to a positive, stable, responsive, and responsible environment for change.
