This job is physically strenuous. You must be comfortable working with your hands and have good grip strength. If you join our team you will be involved in a centuries-old craft (with our modern twist) spending your days making a product sold worldwide from our Green Lake location. Covid19: We have a large workspace broken into isolated quadrants for socially distant work shifts where physical barriers and space provide reasonable precautions for working together in one building. This position will require providing papermakers with support which means working within a five to ten foot radius of each other. We have a fully vaccinated team. Vaccination is a requirement. Your position will require minimal side by side contact, but close quarters are somewhat unavoidable.
What will you do?
Papermaking support duties include fiber and ingredient prep, mixer operation and cleaning, Hollander operation and cleaning, surface preparation, sheet formation, felt rotation, vat maintenance, work area cleaning.
Meet production goals
Understand and comply with strict manufacturing practices
Regular cleaning of production equipment to avoid cross contamination
Work with your arms submerged in water, pulp and flowers
Prep dried and fresh flowers (regular exposure to pollen)
What do you need?
Flexibility and willingness to help when needed.
Ability to lift 35 pounds repeatedly. Ability to use both hands to reach, grab and grip, to bend, stretch, and stand for entire shift.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Excellent attendance, reliability, and initiative!
Ability to work largely unsupervised.
