Paralegal or Executive Administrative Assistant
This position is ideal for a personal injury paralegal or an experienced executive administrative assistant who is willing to be trained on the job.
Applicants must have a paralegal certificate or a bachelor’s degree. Paralegals must have at least one year of experience in a law office, and executive administrative assistants must have at least five years of office experience working at an executive level.
Skills needed for all applicants:
Excellent writing skills, including good composition and spelling skills;
A desire to help clients;
Excellent communication skills;
55 WPM keyboarding and basic computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office;
Quick learner;
Ability to manage time and multiple tasks;
Able to work independently;
Good organizational skills;
Has good judgment;
Has references.
Responsibilities would include:
Managing pre-trial aspects of case preparation for personal injury claims;
Talking to potential new clients about their cases;
Talking to existing clients and getting details about their medical treatment and status;
Bi-weekly meetings with the managing partner to discuss cases;
Composing and writing letters and emails and texts;
Reading summaries of medical records and being able to spot issues;
Talking with medical providers if there are issues in obtaining bills and records;
Scheduling;
Supervising front office administrative staff regarding setting up new files, production of form letters, setting appointments, etc.;
Telephoning and corresponding with insurance adjusters;
Managing and resolving medical or insurance billing issues for clients;
Telephoning and corresponding with employers to obtain clients’ wage loss information.
