ABOUT THE POSITION
Seattle Rep is seeking a resourceful and talented Facilities Technician to join our team. This position is a key addition to the Facilities Operations team and will primarily be engaged in maintaining, restoring, and beautifying our historic building to cultivate a positive experience for patrons and staff alike. The Facilities Technician will assist in addressing issues as they develop as well as engage in routine renovations and improvement projects. We’re looking for personable, technically skilled individuals with a keen eye for detail, an ability to learn new skills quickly, a curiosity for how things work, and a passion for working with their hands. This is a part-time position with some flexibility.
Typical Duties Include:
- Keep Seattle Rep facilities clean, safe and in working order
- Repaint walls and doors throughout the building as needed
- Repair wall surfaces by replacing drywall and patching holes
- Skillfully apply touch-up paint to public areas
- Unclog, repair, or replace plumbing components such as drains, flush valves, faucets, and garbage disposals
- Diagnose and troubleshoot appliance issues
- Replace or adjust doorknobs, locks, hinges, door closers etc.
- Replace light bulbs
- Install or replace carpet, carpet squares, and base molding
- Perform janitorial duties as needed
- Perform walkthroughs of the facility to identify issues with: damage, fire hazards, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, etc.
- Document and report facilities needs
- Keep maintenance and janitorial closets and general storage areas clean and well-organized
- Assist in performing routine junk removal
- Assist with office space needs and configure/carry office furniture
- Assist with scheduling and granting access to building for work performed by outside vendors
- Perform minor electrical work such as replacing outlets, switches, and lighting ballasts
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:

- 1+ years of hands-on general maintenance experience
- Strong attention to detail
- The ability to use a variety of hand and power tools
- Able to regularly lift 25-lbs; occasionally lift 50-lbs, with or without accommodation
- Excellent interpersonal, teamwork and diplomacy skills
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as a member of a team
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and juggle priorities under pressure
- Willingness and ability to work flexible or additional hours as necessary, including evenings and weekends for special events or other business needs
Desired Qualifications:
- Proficiency with Windows-based computer software and Microsoft 365 software suite, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams
- Experience with appliance repair
- Experience with basic electrical work
- Experience in building construction and carpentry
- Understanding of building systems such as refrigeration, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.
- Active licenses in electrical or plumbing is a plus
- Experience with live performance centers is a plus
